Seasonal Mood Disorder 365Welcome to Seasonal Mood Disorder 365! The true cause of seasonal mood disorder, or seasonal affective disorder, is still not known. It is probably that like many other conditions of the mind age, genes, and other factors could cause someone to develop the disorder.

Some scholars think that the low levels of sun in the winter season can mess with someone's circadian rhythm. This helps to maintain the internal clock in your body making sure you know when to be asleep and when to be awake.

Some also think that it could have something to do with melatonin, which is a hormone closely tied to sleep that has been connected with depression.
